A Negative Answer to Nevanlinna’s Type Question and a Parabolic Surface with a Lot of Negative Curvature
نویسنده
چکیده
Consider a simply connected Riemann surface represented by a Speiser graph. Nevanlinna asked if the type of the surface is determined by the mean excess of the graph: whether mean excess zero implies that the surface is parabolic and negative mean excess implies that the surface is hyperbolic. Teichmüller gave an example of a hyperbolic simply connected Riemann surface whose mean excess is zero, disproving the first of these implications. We give an example of a simply connected parabolic Riemann surface with negative mean excess, thus disproving the other part. We also construct an example of a complete, simply connected, parabolic surface with nowhere positive curvature such that the integral of curvature in any disk about a fixed basepoint is less than −ǫ times the area of disk, where ǫ > 0 is some constant.

Some bounds on unitary duals of classical groups - non-archimeden case
We first give bounds for domains where the unitarizabile subquotients can show up in the parabolically induced representations of classical $p$-adic groups. Roughly, they can show up only if the central character of the inducing irreducible cuspidal representation is dominated by the square root of the modular character of the minimal parabolic subgroup. For unitarizable subquotients...
متن کاملStudying The Possibility of Claiming Moral Damage by Commercial Corporations
The presupposition of our legal literature is the attribution of moral damages to natural persons, while contrary to what seems apparently,it is also possible to inflict this type of damage on legal persons, especially since the lives of these individuals often depend on the attribution of certain intellectual rights such as reputation and recognition of the possibility of claiming compensation ...
متن کاملA note on Fouquet-Vanherpe’s question and Fulkerson conjecture
The excessive index of a bridgeless cubic graph $G$ is the least integer $k$, such that $G$ can be covered by $k$ perfect matchings. An equivalent form of Fulkerson conjecture (due to Berge) is that every bridgeless cubic graph has excessive index at most five. Clearly, Petersen graph is a cyclically 4-edge-connected snark with excessive index at least 5, so Fouquet and Vanherpe as...

This paper describes a new design for direct sliding mode method with a high switching frequency using the PD-PI type sliding surface applied to a negative output Luo converter worked in continuous current mode for applications required constant power source such as aerospace applications, medical equipment and etc. Because of the output power and line changes, the converter model is also nonli...
متن کامل3 Aleksandrov Surfaces and Hyperbolicity
Aleksandrov surfaces are a generalization of two-dimensional Rie-mannian manifolds, and it is known that every open simply connected Alek-sandrov surface is conformally equivalent either to the unit disc (hyperbolic case) or to the plane (parabolic case). We prove a criterion for hyperbolicity of Aleksandrov surfaces which have nice tilings and where negative curvature dominates. We then apply ...
